This is the ISiBackup Homepage.

ISiBackup is a backup program for Linux and Unix environments. It is intended to create recursive backups on a per-directory basis onto a hard drive.

It features incremental, differential and full backups, encryption, different compression styles, allows for multiple sets to be defined and it can push the results onto a remote system or poll it, both using ftp or rsync.

ISiBackup was written by Marcus Holthaus with considerable support by Simon Huerlimann here at IMSEC. It is being released under the GNU Public License. As we mainly use Debian, there is a debian package available.

We have been using ISiBackup since October 2000 (or even earlier, if you count in the early versions), and it has evolved continuously. We are happy with it. We hope you will be, too.

All the same: Be aware that this is NOT YET RIPE, although we have a version number above 1! I am pretty sure it does not conform to some Debian standard. There's work to do.

There is documentation online and there is a mailing list.

We think of having a public cvs so you can help with development... until then, please send patches.

As this is non-commercial software, donations are welcome.
